Skincare Ingredients Report: Crystals

Words: Joshua Greenwood

Crystals are a long-serving material, used across centuries for their supposed abilities to promote physical, emotional and spiritual healing. In more recent years the addition of has become mainstream as a way to enhance and target beauty regimes.

With celebrities such as Kate Hudson, Victoria Beckham and Miranda Kerr promoting their love for all things crystalline, they keep and collect them for their healing and positive properties.

And crystals have now become a staple in the beauty and industries, with different types of crystals being infused and incorporated into products because of their unique properties.

Kora Organics, Miranda Kerr’s Skincare brand, energises their products with Rose Quartz.

This crystal is believed to carry a soothing energy to encourage love and acceptance of ourselves and others. Miranda Kerr’s love for Rose Quartz is apparent, with Kora Organics most recent release of their Rose Quartz Heart Facial Sculptor. It is specifically designed to enhance your natural beauty by stimulating circulation while de-puffing, lifting and sculpting your face.

Rose Quartz is a beautifying and healing stone, and Kora Organics proclaim the sculptor also helps to ease tension, stress and anxiety, while promoting feelings of well-being and self-love.

“I wake up with a puffy face most mornings, so I wanted to create a tool that could quickly help stimulate circulation and reduce puffiness. I love to use this together with my Noni Glow Face Oil – it helps the oil absorb deeper into the skin while also increasing blood flow and promoting collagen production. I’m obsessed!” – Miranda Kerr

The use of crystals is also something luxury skincare brand, La Mer, has introduced.

Their ‘Genaissance de la Mer’ range claims to erase signs of time, with accelerated renewal and an ageless transformation thanks to their bespoke Crystal Miracle BrothThe Crystal Miracle Broth is a slowly-crafted serum that was created by one of the scientists at the Max Huber Research Labs.

The crystal ingredient within the Genaissance line supports the skin’s natural renewal. It is soothing, energizing and awakening to make the skin appear flooded with radiance.

La Mer uses the Crystal Miracle Broth due to its ability to infuse the skin with the legendary healing energies of the sea, a theme that is prominent throughout the brand, with lines, imperfections and other signs of time appearing dramatically reduced as the complexion becomes more polished, even, resilient and refined.

There are three products within the Genaissance collection, each targeting the key areas of the face. The Eye & Expression Cream, The Serum Essence and The Infused Lotion.
