#theREALcatwalk happened, and it served to represent the entire compass of the modern female form.

Organised in just three days, model and body-positive activist KhrystyAna placed her casting call on Instagram. On December 2nd, women gathered in Times Square, New York City to celebrate inclusivity – dauntlessly walking amidst the crowded tourist hub in lingerie.

KhrystyAna told Yahoo! that “it’s not just about curvy women, but about every woman – petite, bold, transgender, women in wheel chairs, all different skin tones, very fit, thin, freckles, women with various disabilities – ALL deserve to feel beautiful.”

The public opinion of standardised beauty continues to evolve, and thankfully, models received overwhelming support from the crowd. The mass audience were unsuspecting pedestrians, aimlessly walking by. Photographers gathered in support of body positivity, and it was that same energy, the energy of empowerment, driving the #theREALcatwalk forward.
