Known as an influential artist in subverting the male gaze, Venetia Berry’s dreamy designs of the female form are being exhibited at the innovative concept store Modern Society as part of London Craft Week from now until the end of May 2018.
Already having proved a success, the limited amount of ceramics crafted in Berry’s own Brixton studio, which were available for purchase, have already sold out. The exhibition continues on however, and, her work remains at home in the creative space of Modern Society for everyone to enjoy. Berry had commented on the collaboration explaining that: “Modern Society is a beautiful space and the team have such a great eye, I’m thrilled to be collaborating with them, enjoying exploring a new medium in the process”.
The surreal beauty of Berry’s artwork continues to capture the interest of many; for those wanting to learn more about the process of her work there is a workshop available to attend on Sunday 13th May 2018 between 12pm and 3pm. The workshop is a rare opportunity to learn tips from Berry first-hand on being a budding artist and gain insight into her designs. Tickets will cost £10 per guest, available from Modern Society which includes all workshop materials along with tea, coffee and breakfast. So, head over to the store to be inspired by the collaboration between Modern Society and Venetia Berry.
