People Tree To Launch Sustainable Denim That You’re Going to Love

Ethical pioneers People Tree introduce their first denim jean launching in September 2018. The jeans feature as part of the AW18 collection and are first time the brand have offered denim within their product range. Composed of 100% organic cotton and featuring a straight cropped boyfriend cut, the denim offers a comfortable and classic fit.

People Tree is a Pioneer in Ethical and Sustainable fashion respecting both people and the planet. Design and craftsmanship remains at the core of the brand whilst People Tree actively supports approximately 4,500 farmers, producers and artisans through 34 Fair Trade producer groups, in 13 countries.

Denim production has come under scrutiny in recent years due to its lack of ethical processes, using vast amounts of water and chemicals to produce this wardrobe staple denim production can be far from ethical. Recent innovations at People Tree mean that for the first time the brand are able to offer a more eco-friendly alternative to the classic denim jean, priced at £95 and available from

People Tree have worked closely with Turkish producer SARP Jeans (renowned for their sustainable and ethical credentials) to produce the new denim offering, ensuring every stage of the process, from farm to factory is GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standards) certified and carries the Nordic Swan ecolabel. SARP also ensure all partners are also GOTS certified and are undertaking research and pioneering innovative development to find ways to improve the distressing and washing techniques of denim. SARP producers have been audited by FWF (Fair Wear Foundation) and are constantly working on their supply chain to make improvements in employee health and safety.
